Diamond Tea Robes - Wrap or Zip One Up

New Hanky Panky for Under the Tree - Part Two

Yesterday we showed you new Hanky Panky styles to cover your bottom, well today we're going to let you know about new designs on top.

Up first we have the Signature Lace Thong-Back Teddy. This is a completely new design brought in just for the holidays. It hits high on the hip, just like a Hanky Panky thong, and is made of the stretch lace for which Hanky Panky is famous. The triangle cups and chest band flatter the breasts while the three small bows in the middle are a sweetheart detail.

Meet Estar McMillan – The Woman Behind the Window

December marks the Walk the Windows contest in downtown Courtenay so it’s the perfect time to talk about E. M. Interior Design, the firm behind the window displays of Secret Drawers Lingerie.

Estar McMillan is the woman behind E. M. Interior Design and we always look forward to seeing her monthly vignettes. She shows a deft hand in creating seasonal displays featuring our products in sophisticated and fun ways. We sat down with McMillan to learn more about her design ideals.

“I make it (the window design) exude what we’re selling… my goal is to make it sensual, flirty, but not over the top or cheesy,” says McMillan, “I try hard to make it as classy as I can. It’s beautiful product; it’s a joy to be able to work with it. And every time my client is happy, I’m happy.”

McMillan started working with us about a year ago and immediately she was a natural fit.

“I really believe in their philosophy in dressing from the inside out, so I think about that all the time when I do the windows. It speaks loudly,” says McMillan.

The stunning window designs show our lingerie in its most desirous light. Her creative talent really shines; and maybe most creative of all is her ability to reuse, repurpose and even create some of the stunning elements seen in our windows. This season’s five-foot high snowflakes are her latest creation.

“I use my imagination a lot in a time when the economy is a bit tricky. It’s important not to throw everything out and start over. I believe design should be affordable for everyone not just people with money.”

And it seems that McMillan is as happy working with us as we are working with her,

“Pulling all the elements together, the plan of the space, and the materials for the end product: it’s a passion; it’s a joy. Lighting, colour, everything we use… (I love) helping people see the vision and see how pleased they are with the end product, it’s the compliments when they’re thrilled with the job.”

And while her designs are always topics of conversation for both us and our clients, we’ll give McMillan and her designs the last words,

“I like to let my work speak for itself.”

The last time Marie Jo Haute Lingerie came up we mentioned that each of their pieces requires 25 to 30 minutes of manual work, which is 25% to 50% more than the average in the lingerie industry. I hate to repeat myself, but Jane by Marie Jo proves these facts are true, yet again.

Pajamas Are Extremely Popular Christmas Gifts

Yes, that's right, I said the word: Christmas. I know, of course, that it's two months away, but the earlier you browse the selection at Secret Drawers Lingerie, the more satisfied you and your giftee will be.

The Uubelievabra is everything that I have been telling my patients to buy for the past eighteen years and I just did not know it existed. I, in the past, suggested my female patients wear a posture bra/sports bra of their choosing... of course as any woman knows sports bras smash the breasts and are all made from none breathable nylon/spandex making them something that most of my patients would refuse to wear.

The reason I would tell my female patients, especially large breasted patients, to wear sports bras is because any bra that puts all of the weight of your breasts on a 1-2" back band puts too much stress on one maybe two of your thoracic vertebra. This situation ends up causing a lot of the much more common in women than men middle back pain. Trasparenze, Voilà, Philippe Matignon - Stockings to Seduce

The term "stockings" refers to a garment that covers the foot and lower-leg, while pantyhose actually refers to the toes to waist garment that women commonly wear now. These terms are currently often used interchangeably. Pantyhose proper weren't introduced into the market until 1959 and became a fashion necessity in the 1960's with the popularity of the mini-skirt.

We've come a long way since hand-sown silk, and stockings are now a fashion piece in their own right.

Trasparenze

Trasparenze is an Italian company, and while they offer a full-line of stockings, we bring in their particularly seductive pieces.On the right, is an example of a provocative Seisho design. This is one of our most seductive offerings as it appears to be an outfit of stockings, panties and a garter belt, but it actually is a one-piece pantyhose. This is sometimes known as garter hose. It is an 80-denier material, thick enough to hide any leg or thigh blemishes.

On the left is a Trasparenze JKay stay-up. It's more sheer in a 20 denier and sports red criss-crossing ribbons with a buckle at the thigh and ankle.

New Hanky Panky - Try a Retro Plunge or V-Kini

OK, we admit it, we are in love with our Hanky Panky. They really are the most comfortable thong in the world, but their traditional thong isn't their only offering. They create other other panty cuts as well as a range of tops.

Retro Plunge Chemise

New in-store, the Retro Plunge Chemise (seen right) has a daring plunge neckline with a flattering horizontal panel beneath its cups. The lace is Hanky Panky's retro pattern in a supportive Spandex nylon blend. Our favorite feature is the adjustable straps, creating a better fit for women of all shapes. This chemise is offered in a deep pink that verges on red.

The V-kini

A new take on Hanky Panky's traditional thong is the V-kini. This design is perfect for the woman who loves the traditional Hanky Panky lines in the front, seen left, but would like a little more coverage in the back.

Whereas the boyshort design has a cheeky higher cut on the bottom, the V-kini has full panty coverage (seen right).

This panty retains a delicate 'v' along the trim, both in the front and back, and the Spandex blend ensures it hugs your curves. We're carrying this design in white, black and nude.
