New Mary Green Silk

New in this week are multiple chemises from Mary Green - who famously announced Lingerie Conquers All. These chemises are in a variety of colours including licorice with cream accents (seen right) and celestial blue with celestial blue accents (colour chip seen below).

A chemise is a short, loosely-fitting dress that can be used as an undergarment or as lingerie proper. It tends to be sleeveless, loose at the waist with no fasteners or buttons. A chemise is similar to a babydoll dress but tends to skim the hips a little closer and be more provocative.

This is clearly seen in the Mary Green Silk Knit Chemise with Lace. It has adjustable straps to achieve the proper fit and accentuates a woman's curves with the graceful neckline. It is a beautiful basic that is an absolute necessity.

Silk is the word. At Secret Drawers Lingerie we sell many types of silk and many silk pieces both for lounging and for sleeping. The NKiMode Sensuous chemise, may have you wanting to do both.

Blush Lingerie - Cute or Come-Hither

Blush is a new line of lingerie we're carrying. Located in Montreal, this family owned and operated company has been in business for 25 years.

And Blush lingerie offers a wide range of looks from pretty and dainty to outright sexy and provocative. To the right is the Girlie Show chemise.

The Blush Girlie Show chemise is 34 inches long, made of microfibre and is available in sizes small through extra-large. It has adjustable straps to ensure a good fit. Without padding or underwire in the cups, it's perfect for cuddling, lazing in bed or lounging with a book on Sunday morning.

Next we move into the more sultry looks of Blush lingerie. We are now carrying the Blush Luscious lace teddy seen left. We only carry a teddy when it's exceptional and this one by Blush certainly is. It's a centerpiece of the Blush collection and is bound to be one in yours too.

The Blush Luscious teddy has slight padding and small underwires to make you look your very best in this backless, femme-fatale number. There are hook-and-eye closures in the back and a snap closure on the cotton gusset.

Finally, we have the teddy from the Blush Luscious collection. This soft-dot mesh and banded lace has partial underwires for extra lift and cleavage. The lace falls along natural lines and the fabric just skims the hip.

This exceptional chemise comes with matching g-string bottoms for a complete look. It has hook-and-eye closures, adjustable straps and is backless.

These new pieces from Blush can add va-va-voom to an evening or a special surprise when worn under an everyday dress. Drop by and see how good they can make you look.

We're always looking for new fashion profiles and silhouettes to bring into Secret Drawers Lingerie, and today we feature a new look from Princesse Tam Tam - the Oisive bandeau.

A bandeau is a narrow bra that stretches tightly across the chest and is normally strapless. Bandeaux, like the one seen right, are best suited for smaller-bosommed women.

This Princesse Tam Tam Ousive bandeau keeps you covered and upright with a full underwire and silicone edging. The fabric slicks like a second skin in stretch lace and microfibre.

Come in a see what this young, fresh, and oh-so-French take on lingerie can do for you.

New Hanky Panky - Animal Rose and a Sleep Set

As we do throughout the year, this week we received new Hanky Panky in a print called animal rose.

The animal rose camisole is a combination of leopard and tiger prints mingled with red roses. It is a standard, unlined Hanky Panky, stretch lace cami, available in small, medium and large.

In bottoms we have the thong and boy pant to match.

Also new from Hanky Panky is this sleep set in a daring and provacative red - perfect for your Valentine's Day sweetheart.

This set contains a racerback camisole and tap pant in a buttery-soft modal spandex jersey. Like all Hanky Panky, it stretches in all directions and the modal makes this set supremely comfortable in bed.

The set is also available in black and is in sizes small, medium and large.

Lingerie Trends in 2012 (Part 2/2)

(part one)

Structure Makes Your Current Closet Work

You’ll be finding more structured pieces next season. These pieces will make the what’s already in your closet even better by providing you with a great foundation.

A keyword this season is “couture” as body-hugging designs look like they were made just for you. The classics will be meticulously reinvented and adorned with humor and surprise.

Loungewear Making a Comeback

And in opposition to constricting structure, loungewear is making a comeback with housecoats becoming a new, multi-functional, must-have piece. Bi-stretch and easy comfort pieces make lounging particularly decadent.

Glamour Hosiery Trends

The four key themes of hosiery in 2012 include words like, “diva,” “naturalle,” “sheer delight” and “rebel.” These looks include full-on glam with retro themes as well as looks that take advantage of the latest in fabric technology. Seaming, micro-mesh, fencenet and seductive patterning all exemplify these styles.

And look for all of these trends and more to be featured at the Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris at the end of the month. For more information you can check out http://www.lingerie-paris.com/http://www.lingerie-paris.com/.

Lingerie Trends in 2012 (Part 1/2)

Lingerie is subject to trends as much as any other fashion. This is why, at Secret Drawers Lingerie, we bring in pieces all year long that reflect the very latest trends in silks, lace, colour and print. And this year you can expect to see spirit-lifting colours and prints to fight the feelings around the current economic climate. Nothing is too matchy-matchy this season with an emphasis on being artistic and original.

Spring is About Colour

This spring is going to be all about colour: violet, chartreuse, scarlet red, azure, cognac, indigo and beetroot. These colours will be seen in naturalist looks that celebrate upcylcing, pastoral eccentricities and plant life. The broadest sense of nature is in mind as the source of lasting creative energy and well-being. Fine embroideries and backstitching are seen on these often thin-stretch, layered looks.

Amongst these strong fashion statements lay the palest of pastels like whipped cream, cappuccino and icicle to freshen the palette. Prints may be oversized as in large rose blooms or miniature as is tiny rose buds covering a pair of panties. Prints can be seen in a traveller’s palette including tribal, primitive and blanket prints. You’ll also notice Mediterranean and Spanish influences throughout.

In part two learn about trends for structured pieces, loungewear and hosiery.
